Our free-standing center provides more cardiac testing and treatment space than any other provider in the area, and patients are only steps away from Bayfront Health St. Petersburg's cardiac surgical program.
James Heart Center features:
- 8 private rooms focused on a patient’s comfort.
- Three cardiovascular catheterization laboratories for arrhythmia studies, stenting and angioplasty.
- Suites for ECHO, EKG and TEE/transesophageal echocardiography.
- Two specially equipped electrophysiology labs to study and treat electrical issues in the heart, such as arrhythmia.
- A connection to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg's cardiac surgical wing and cardiac intensive care unit for quick, seamless transport, if needed.
Our specialty arrhythmia program provides advanced electrophysiology capabilities to evaluate the heart’s electrical system. And, when a condition calls for intervention, minimally invasive techniques such as the placement of drug-eluting stents, coronary and vascular angioplasty and cardiac ablation, procedures are performed at the James Heart Center.

We are also certified by The Joint Commission with the Gold Seal of Approval in a Disease Specific Certification for Heart Failure. This national designation affirms our commitment to providing patients with the highest quality heart care from a patient's arrival in the emergency room until discharge.
Four beds in our emergency room-based center are designated for chest pain observation 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Once determined that the patient needs additional cardiac care, the patient has instant access to our team of cardiologists, diagnostic tools, catheterization laboratories, and open-heart surgery center.
